The Foods of Long Island was the result of those shopping excursions and cooking extravaganzas, the first of many cookbooks she wrote during her career in newspaper and magazine publishing. Ten years later, Peggy’s Shelter Island real estate adventure began when she and her husband, Jerry, bought a patch of undeveloped land. Over the span of four years, they returned to visit their dream property while getting to know the people, the shops and the rhythm of the Island. Along the way, they patiently cleared land and carefully planned their house to include a generous kitchen and a screened porch perfect for long, lingering dinners. Moving from publishing, she spent nine years in marketing, and now makes her home on this Island. Peggy joins M.
